18TH & VINE SAFETY LIST

Tourists should use a safety checklist

A Simple and Practical Safety List Compiled By An Area Resident

  • STAY ON 18TH & VINE STREET UNLESS YOU’RE VISITING THE FAMOUS ARTHUR BRYANT’S BBQ RESTAURANT  AT 1727 BROOKLYN AVENUE
  • IT’S “SAFE” TO WALK UP AND DOWN THE STREET DURING THE DAY
  • ORGANIZED WALKING TOURS ARE SAFE

  • THE NEGRO LEAGUES BASEBALL MUSEUM HOURS ARE GENERALLY 9-5. CHECK HERE BEFORE YOU DEPART

  • DO NOT LINGER TOO LONG AFTER THE MUSEUM CLOSES

  • AVOID WALKING AROUND THE NEIGHBORHOOD–MOSTLY BECAUSE THERE’S NOTHING TO SEE. THE AREA IS ESSENTIALLY AN INDUSTRIAL PARK NOT AN INVITING RESIDENTIAL NEIGHBORHOOD

  • AVOID THE CITY BUS SYSTEM IF YOU CAN. ALTHOUGH CURRENTLY FREE IT IS NOT RECOMMENDED

  • DO NOT RETURN TO THE AREA AFTER DARK, ESPECIALLY ON THE WEEKEND

    Be SMART. Stay SAFE!
